Textile Society Research Symposium, 19 March 2011

Textiles: New Research strategies.

Research symposium

Sat 19th March 2011

Wellcome Conference Centre

183 Euston Road, London, NW1

Textiles: New Research strategies.

The Textile Society is keen to capture the essence of current research activity in Britain and Ireland.

To celebrate, encourage, explore and support on-going research into textiles in all their diversity the Society is funding a research symposium at the Wellcome Conference Centre, 183 Euston Road, London NW1 (opposite Euston Station) on Saturday 19th March 2011.

We are holding the symposium in order that researchers, would-be researchers and anyone interested to know more about what is happening can get together, create links, encourage debate and share information at a central location.

We are particularly interested to hear more about collaborative research, cross-disciplinary activities, professional practice and industrial developments. We wish to encourage a broad spectrum of interests and would welcome an input from the humanities, sciences and arts.

There will be themed sessions, a plenary session and enough time to interact with other researchers. Lunch will be provided for speakers and audience.

If you want to take part and are willing to present a short, sharp 15 minute overview of your research strategies then please contact either Dr Brenda King, Chair, The Textile Society or Dr Lynn Hulse, Co-editor of Text on with an outline of your research activity as soon as possible.

If you wish to be a member of the audience and know more about current research activity then please contact either of the above to secure your free place as soon as possible.
